Minutes of the meeting of the Lone Rock Village Board held on Tuesday January 12, 2016. Roll call – All Present. A motion by Morgenson second by Corey Ewers, to adopt the agenda as presented carried. Approval of Minutes carried with a motion by Whalen and a second by Corey Ewers.
Lone Rock School Closing – Don Brander brought forward information and concerns regarding the potential closing of the Lone Rock Grade School. Present were several River Valley School District representatives and many area concerned citizens who voiced their various views and concerns. It was recommended interested parties should attend the River Valley School District Board Meeting which will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 14th. Preceding the board meeting will be a budget meeting at 6:00 p.m. where the financial implications will be addressed. Both meetings will be held at the Middle School Library in Spring Green.
Playground equipment has been selected for Garrison Park. The cost of the equipment has already been budgeted and The 4th of July Committee is splitting the cost with the village. A motion by Marshall and a second by Ewers carried that the selected equipment be ordered. The equipment chosen allows for a vast array of expansion pieces for future consideration.
A grant is being pursued for the purchase of a police vest.
There was further discussion regarding removing a couple of dead or dying trees on Main St. and a nuisance tree at the post office where root issues is causing sidewalk buckling and standing water issues.
A right-of way for two ‘Welcome to Lone Rock’ signs is in progress.
The library received their annual report from the Dept. of Public Instruction.
Many new programs are being offered and hopes of many more that are still pending.
The next Board Meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 9th, 2016. The meeting will be held in the Village Office Conference Room, Beginning at 7:00 p.m.
